CBIC-Sabeel Alliance

The Corner Brook Islamic Center (CBIC) and the Sabeel Muslim Youth & Community Center have allied to collaborate on mutual projects and activities of interest. Both organizations aim to promote the interests and advancements of the Muslim community by providing educational, social, and religious services, fostering peaceful integration and co-existence, and contributing positively to the community.

Sabeel Muslim Youth & Community Center is a registered charity organization (charity #: 727932600 RR 0001) that was formed to accommodate the rising numbers of new families into Nova Scotia. Apart from being a place of worship where Muslims can fulfil their daily prayers, Sabeel Muslim Youth & Community Center’s primary focus is to support the development and growth of the Muslim Youth within the community through the advancement of educational, social, and religious initiatives and activities seeking to revive and strengthen the Muslim identity (https://sabeelcenter.ca/about-us/).

Sabeel leading the Masjid Project for CBIC 

Sabeel Muslim Youth and Community Center seeks to achieve its goals through collaboration with various Islamic centers not only in Nova Scotia but across Canada, with the belief that having more options will further enhance and improve the Muslim community and will push everyone towards excellence. It is in this spirit that Sabeel and CBIC are partnering to execute the CBIC Masjid (Mosque) Project with two main premises;

       (1) Sabeel has a wealth of expertise, experience, contacts and networks that                    they’re generously willing to share with CBIC as a young, allied organization.

      (2) Sabeel has charitable status and will provide donors with tax receipts, which              they can use for tax claims/returns. This serves as an incentive for our urgent              donation campaign to purchase a church property at 36 Clarence St., Corner              Brook, and Sabeel is leading the process.
